About Us

The Orthotic Clinic is a private orthotics practice specialising in the assessment, manufacturing, fitting and review of foot orthotics and bracing for all joints of the body. We are located in Carnegie and have been providing orthotic services to hospitals and the general public of Melbourne's Southeast region since 2006.

We strongly believe that successful treatment outcomes are closely associated with active patient involvement. We recognise this by educating you about your condition and empowering you as a valuable part of the treatment process. We will also recommend a range of treatment options to suit your personal circumstances, and monitor your progress to ensure that the objectives of your treatment are met to the highest possible standards.

Be it something small like a broken finger, flat feet or a more complex knee injury, our orthotists can provide you with a suitable orthopaedic appliance to control, correct, or compensate for impaired function, allowing you to recover quicker and get the most out of your lifestyle.

About David Dzienciol

Our head orthotist David graduated with a Bachelor of Prosthetics & Orthotics (Honours) from La Trobe University in 2003. He has over 10 years experience as a clinician, covering a broad range of orthopaedic issues across public and private health care systems.  In August 2004, David presented both his Honours thesis and final year independent research project at the 11th International Society of Prosthetics & Orthotics (ISPO) Congress in Hong Kong. He opened his own practice, The Orthotic Clinic, in December 2006.

David is a self-confessed technology buff, and is always looking for the most advanced methods of treating his patients, and meeting their orthotic needs. In October 2013, he was invited to present at the inaugural "Real Big Things" forum, where he discussed how 3D Printing will play a part in the future of orthotic manufacturing. David places heavy emphasis on client education, and believes that a strong dialogue between practitioner and patient is the key to successful treatment. "If a patient understands exactly what the problem is and how is can be treated, they are more likely to play an active role in the process. This maximises our ability to achieve the best results and meet the expectations of our clients".

In addition to his clinical training, David is a fully qualified orthotic technician, allowing him to manufacture custom-made orthotics himself, rather than outsourcing them. This ensures that all orthotics are made to his exacting standards, and are designed to address the specific needs of his patients.
